LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Need more services in county for feral cats

I am writing to you to address a local problem in my neighborhood. There has been a recent group of feral cats that are living in our and other communities. They have been attacking other pet cats in groups and have been scaring away and possibly eating local birds.
Our community needs more services to help with feral cats. Two ways to help feral cats are: Take in feral cats and find them homes. For example, Rogue Community Cat Rescue in Medford has a foster and adoption program. This is important so they don’t end up in neighborhoods and eat or attack animals. Trap feral cats and fix them then release them back into their home area. This means there are less feral cats.
Our county shelter no longer takes in cats. We need a shelter that does.
