CALDWELL, Idaho – The No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon beach volleyball team stayed the course and locked up the Cascade Conference’s No. 2 seed by defeating Simpson (Calif.), 5-0, and No. 9 College of Idaho, 3-2, on Friday at C of I Beach Courts.

The Raiders (12-7 overall, 10-3 CCC) won their first eight matches on the penultimate day of the regular season. They got unbeaten performances from 2-pair Linda Conceicao and Grace Gulbrandsen, 4-pair Natalie Perez and Andressa Ribeiro Soares, and 5-pair Skyy Nihipali-Botelho and Kendal Hadwick. Their 1-pair fell in a tiebreaker set to the Yotes, but by then the dual win was already clinched.

“C of I was a hard-fought match as we knew it would be, and we were happy to get it done,” SOU coach Paul Elliott said.

The Raiders will remain in Caldwell to close the regular season on Saturday, facing Northwest at noon and C of I at 2 p.m.
