Medford police say an investigation is underway and a suspect has been detained after officers found a severely injured victim in the north Medford Lowe’s parking lot early Friday morning.

Around 2 a.m., officers responded to a report of a person down at the business in the 3600 block of Crater Lake Highway, according to a Facebook post.

“Upon arrival, officers located the victim unconscious with a significant head injury. The victim is currently in the Intensive Care Unit,” the post said.

Police said a detective and forensic technician responded to assist with the investigation. A suspect has been detained and interviewed, according to the release.

Further information is expected to be released, police said.
