A Medford City Council town hall will be held Wednesday evening for citizens to connect with local leaders and learn more about the city’s emergency preparedness efforts.

The event, hosted by Mayor Michael Zarosinksi and councilors representing wards 1 and 3, is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Prescott Room at Medford Police Headquarters, 219 S. Ivy Street, a news release said.

“This town hall provides an opportunity for community members to hear directly from city councilors, the mayor and city staff about how Medford is preparing for emergencies — from wildfire and severe weather to disaster response planning,” according to the release.

The event is part of the Medford’s ongoing series of town halls, which have previously covered a range of topics, including homelessness, transportation projects, and housing initiatives, city officials said.

A second town hall will be held on Thursday, May 15, hosted by the mayor and councilors from wards 2 and 4. It will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Smullin Health Education Center at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, 2825 E. Barnett Rd., according to the release.
