Veteran volunteers with VFW Post 1833 Medford will serve breakfast at St. Vincent de Paul on Saturday as part of the national Day of Service that includes 1,500 events around the country, triple the number held last year, officials said.
Breakfast, which can include a donation, will be from 8 to 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul, 2424 North Pacific Hwy., Medford.
“This community collaboration is both a volunteer effort and a fundraiser, with attendee donations being shared between VFW Post 1833 and St. Vincent de Paul to support ongoing charitable work,” a news release said. “Now in its fourth year, the VFW Day of Service highlights the commitment of veterans to continue serving their communities after their military service.”
VFW officials said the the event “is a key component of the VFW’s #StillServing initiative, launched in 2020, which recognizes and promotes the ongoing contributions of U.S. military veterans to local communities.”
