ELECTION LETTER: Read your Voter’s Pamphlet and judge experiences

I was reading my Voter’s Pamphlet for May 20. I have a granddaughter in the Medford system, and I was interested in who was running, having followed the school board and their track record of kerfuffles.
Being a SoCal expat, I was reminded of the knot that tied the Huntington Beach, California, School Board, rendering them useless. They too had a conflicted board, and in an election in the midst of a tough time voted for influencers of MAGA, conspiracy devotees and extreme Christian nationalists whose lack of expertise and common sense in school and civic management almost destroyed the system. After a recall election, the new board began a rebuild.
Read your Voter’s Pamphlet, judge the experience of the candidates, see their civic track record, and weigh the quality of their endorsements. In a time when activist politicians love their undereducated voters, don’t let our children be undereducated.
