Published 9:10 am Thursday, May 8, 2025
The event is intended to raise funds for school programming
The first community rummage sale fundraiser benefiting Willow Wind Community Learning Center will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at 1497 E. Main St. Ashland, according to a news release.
The event’s intent is to raise funds for school programming that isn’t covered by the school budget and to complement Willow Wind’s academic programming focusing on “education for sustainability,” which teaches students about topics such as climate change, social justice, nutrition, biodiversity and sustainable consumption, the release said.
Available rummage sale items will include donations from Willow Wind families and extended families. Children’s books, toys, games, clothing for adults, teens, and youths, jewelry, electronics, sporting goods, collectibles and other gently loved items will be available.
Goodwill will provide a mobile trailer to aid in receiving and sorting materials prior to the event. All leftover items will be donated, and the school will reimbursed by the pound for the donations.
Food trucks will also be on site, including Rogue Food Unites and Detroit Mike’s Pizza. Bar Juillet will provide coffee, cocoa and pastries.
