Mary Ann Olsen passed away peacefully under hospice care on May 13, 2025, in Medford, OR, at the age of 88. Mary Ann was born on February 23, 1937 to Florence (Engel) and Clayton Russ in Pasadena, CA. Her family moved to Newport Beach, where she grew up going to horse races and gardening. She graduated from Newport Harbor Union High School in 1954 and went on to earn a degree in education. In 1957, Mary Ann married Keith Olsen and they made their home in Mission Viejo. They had two children, Jeff and Linda.

Mary Ann taught junior high school in the Saddleback Valley School District for over 20 years, retiring in 2000. She was a dedicated mother and teacher, with a strong Christian faith. She was a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church of the Master in Mission Viejo and her list of hobbies and interests included her church activities, singing, horses, and her beloved family and friends. Mary Ann also enjoyed traveling with friends and family, visiting Australia, Europe, and the United States. She loved animals, especially her many dogs who were her beloved companions throughout her life.

In 2005, she moved to Eagle Point, OR, where she enjoyed being near family, exploring new places, and making new friends. Inspired by her love of children and education, she served on the Eagle Point school board for several years. She was an active member of the Community Bible Church in Central Point and enjoyed playing bridge, attending Bible studies, and traveling in her RV. All who knew Mary Ann will miss her kindness, generosity, and easy smile.

A funeral will be held on June 7, 2025 at the Community Bible Church in Central Point at 1:00pm. Anyone who knew Mary Ann is welcome to attend.
