Carol Jean Lindbloom Hamlin, 84, passed away surrounded by loved ones on December 25, 2024, at her home in Medford.
Carol was born on June 26, 1940, in Roseburg, to Etta and Thomas Lindbloom. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Allen Lindbloom.
Carol graduated from Roseburg High School in 1958 and Oregon State University in 1962, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was a member of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church and had been actively involved in the Hillcrest Committee for Cancer, The Colony Club, and P.E.O. Carol was also a long-time and passionate supporter of Oregon State University.
She is survived by her children: Cinda Hamlin Scadden and John Scadden, along with their sons, Sean and William; Kathryn Hamlin O’Leary and Dan O’Leary, with their children, Caitlin, Lauren, and Daniel; and Thomas Allen Hamlin and Jessica Hamlin, with their daughters, Sara and Margaret.
Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who committed her life to helping others in need. She enjoyed tennis, art, travel, playing cards, and anything to do with her beloved cats. Carol was also an avid follower of Beaver athletics. Carol always had a smile for everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by family, friends, and acquaintances.
A memorial service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave., Medford, OR 97501. A gathering will follow from 1:00–4:00 PM at the Rogue Valley Country Club, 2660 Hillcrest Rd., Medford, OR 97504.
