- Tom
Age: Tom is a 5-year-old, male American pit bull terrier mix.
Personality: Intelligent, sweetheart, loving, strong, social, affectionate.
Highlights: Tom has a heart full of love and a lively, engaging personality. He has already mastered basic commands like “sit” and “lie down,” and his eagerness to please makes him an excellent candidate for continued training. While he can be strong on the leash, his intelligence and desire to connect mean that with some consistent training and positive reinforcement, Tom will quickly improve his leash manners and focus.
Despite his strength, Tom is a big softie at heart, and his sweet nature shines through in everything he does. He thrives on attention, affection and positive interactions. As an active, strong breed, Pit Bulls like him excel when provided with structure, exercise and plenty of love. Training sessions will not only help him develop good habits, but they also provide wonderful bonding opportunities.
His sweetness, intelligence and potential make him a perfect match for someone willing to guide him and provide the love and attention he deserves.
Availability: Tom is available at the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Hwy., Phoenix. The shelter is open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Walk-ins welcomed. No appointment needed. View Jackson County’s adoptable pets: jacksoncountyor.gov/pets.
