The following are initial election results of contested county and municipal races posted as of Thursday morning.
Turnout in Jackson County is at 70.86%, with 116,682 voters out of 164,662 eligible voters casting ballots so far.
More mail-in ballots are being processed through Nov. 12. Final election results will be certified Dec. 2. For the most up-to-date results, see the Jackson County Elections office website.
Contested races
Jackson County Board of Commissioners
Position 2 Commissioner: Republican Randy Sparacino is leading Democrat Denise Krause with 56.84% (62,603) of 110,139 votes counted; Krause (43.04%, 47,403)
Medford
Mayor: [Highest vote total wins] Former City Councilor Michael Zarosinski is leading the four-way mayoral race with 42% (13,978) of 33,280 votes counted. Clay Bearnson has 31.97% (10,638), Curt Ankerberg has 17.26% (5,744) and Logan Leverette Vaughan has 8.07% (2,686)
City Council Ward 3: Garrett West is leading in the race against Elizabeth Leydsman with 64.97% (3,698) of 5,692 votes counted; Leydsman (34.07%, 1,939)
City Council Ward 4: Kevin P. Keating is leading against Tyler Jasper with 56.46% (5,698) of 10,092 votes counted; Jasper (43.04%, 4,344)
Ashland
City Council Position 1: Doug Knauer is leading Teresa Cisneros in the two-way race with 65.54% of 9,867 votes counted; Cisneros (34.13%, 3,378)
City Council Position 2: Jeff Dahle is leading in the race against Kelly Marcotulli with 65.22% of 10,194 votes counted; Marcotulli (34.46%, 3,513)
City Council Position 3: Dylan Bloom is leading in the race against Eric Navickas with 56.90% of 10,476 votes counted; Navickas (42.74%, 4,477)
Ashland Parks Commissioner Position 1: Michael Gardiner is leading in the race against Fer Mejia with 64.05% of 10,036 votes counted; Mejia (35.56%, 3,569)
Ashland Parks Commissioner Position 2: Daniel Weiner is leading in the three-way race with 37.26% of 9,761 votes counted. Rick Vann has 35.12% and Ian Cropper has 27.09%.
Central Point
Mayor: Taneea Browning is leading in the race against Zachary Sutton with 74.05% of 8,035 votes counted; Sutton (24.93%, 2,003)
Eagle Point
City Council (3 seats): Incumbent City Councilor Stacy Fields and newcomers Kira Zavala and Lena Beach were leading in the race for three open seats. Fields has 29.87% of 10,470 votes counted, Zavala has 26.67%, Beach has 22.24% and candidate Tim Holdeman has 19.59%.
Phoenix
Mayor: Challenger Al Muelhoefer is leading against incumbent Mayor Terry Baker with 53.44% (1,033) of 1,933 votes counted; Baker (46.15%, 892)
City Council [3 seats, 5 candidates]: Newcomers Susan Chester, Nicole Suetos and Virginia Camberos are leading in the race for three open seats, and incumbent city councilors Krista Peterson and Karen Shrader are trailing. Chester has 23.53% of 4,892 votes counted, Camberos has 21.84%, Suetos has 22.62%, Peterson has 17.13% and Shrader has 13.84%.

City Council Seat 2: Incumbent City Councilor Ana Byers is leading in the race against challenger Philip “Jack” Lanni with 70.68% (1,902) of 2,691 votes counted; Lanni (28.95%, 779)
City Council Seat 4: Rosario Medina is leading in the race against Russell Hodgdon with 58.59% (1,569) of 2,678 votes counted; Hodgdon (41.15%, 1,102)
City Council Seat 6: Incumbent Daniel Collay is leading in the race against Anthony Moyious with 75.90% of 2,535 votes counted; Moyious (23.71%, 601)
Jacksonville
City Council (3 seats): Incumbent City Councilor Andrea Thompson, incumbent City Councilor Steve Casaleggio and John Jorgenson were leading in the race for three open council seats. Thompson has 30.03% of 4,909 votes counted, Casaleggio has 26.40%, Jorgenson has 25.83% and candidate Michelle M. Erwin has 16.95%.
Butte Falls
Mayor: Incumbent Mayor Trish Callahan is leading in the race against challenger Loretta Ellis with 60.83% (132) of 217 votes counted; Ellis (37.79%, 82)
City Council Position 1: Incumbent City Councilor Delena Oden is leading in the race against challenger Jeffrey Brown with 50.50% (102) of 202 votes counted; Brown (47.03%, 95)
City Council Position 2: Incumbent City Councilor Alvin Thompson is leading in the race against Marc Ellis with 62.04% of 216 votes counted; Ellis (37.50%, 81)
City Council Position 3: Former Mayor Neal Ellis is leading in the three-way race for the council seat with 39.81% (86) of 216 votes counted. James “Ed” Peeples has 33.33% and Shone Ellis has 26.39%.
Jackson County Circuit Court
Judge Position 11: Incumbent Judge Matthew Rowan is leading in the race against challenger Johan Pietila with 52.63% (44,005) of 83,616 votes counted; Pietila (46.77%, 39,106)

Medford
City Council Ward 1: Incumbent City Councilor Mike Kerlinger secured a four-year term.
City Council Ward 2: Incumbent City Councilor John Quinn has secured another four-year term.
Ashland
Mayor: Incumbent Mayor Tonya Graham secured another four-year term.
City Council Position 5: Incumbent councilor Gina DuQuenne secured another four-year term.
Central Point
City Council Ward 4: Brian Whitaker secured a four-year term.
City Councilmember-at-large (2 seats): Incumbents Robert Hernandez and Michael Parsons each secured four-year terms for the two open seats.
Eagle Point
Mayor: Incumbent Kathy Sell secured another two-year term.
Rogue River
Mayor: Pam VanArsdale secured another four-year term.
City Council: Incumbent city councilors Barbara Gregory, Barb Hilty and Grace Howell each secured four-year terms.
Jacksonville
Mayor: Incumbent mayor Donna Bowen secured another four-year term.
Gold Hill
Mayor: Incumbent mayor Ronald Palmer secured another two-year term.
City Council: Incumbent city councilors Melia Biedscheid, Jerry Frazier and RJ Wright each secured four-year terms.
Shady Cove
Mayor: Incumbent Jon Ball secured another two-year term.
City Council: Incumbents Steve Mitchell and Kathryn Nuckles each secured four-year terms.
Jackson County Justice Court
Justice of the Peace: Incumbent Justice of the Peace Joe Charter secured another four-year term.
Jackson County Circuit Court
Judge Position 1: Incumbent Judge Jeremy Markiewicz secured another six-year term.
