ELECTION LETTER: Vote no on RCC bond measure

Vote no on 19-117

My election ballot and property tax bill arrived in my mailbox on the same day. As seems to happen every election cycle, Rogue Community College is yet again asking for property owners to vote for a bond that would raise our taxes — yet again.

My property taxes already show us paying to RCC, RCC bonds and RCC shared bonds. Enough is enough. Our property taxes are already exorbitant, and RCC needs to figure out a way to run their business that does not require crushing property owners under the burden.

We have supported them over and over again, but this time they need to figure out a new way to get money. How about asking for support from the industries that benefit from the proposed workforce training? How about seeking federal or state grants? Anything besides coming back to the property owners year after year.

I am voting NO on 19-117 because I can barely afford my taxes as it is. I hope voters finally tell RCC to try something new to raise funds. You’re crushing us.
