Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife troopers are asking for tips to track down a trio of suspects linked to one elk poaching on private property near Central Point and another attempted poaching.

Two of the suspects — shown in surveillance video stills released by police wearing camouflage and armed with hunting bows — are believed to be linked to the unlawful taking of a 5×5 bull elk on Sept. 8 near the area of Crater Lake Avenue and McLoughlin Drive, according to a release issued by OSP. The elk’s carcass was left to waste.

OSP says a third suspect trespassed on the property two days later and attempted to kill another bull elk on the property. The male suspect fled the area after being confronted by the property owner.

Anyone who may have information about the suspects is asked to call the Oregon State Police’s anonymous Turn-in-Poachers line at 1-800-452-7888 and reference case numbers SP24295644 and SP24297785, or email TIP@osp.oregon.gov. Tipsters can also dial *OSP or *677 from a mobile phone.

Tips that lead to an arrest or the issuance of a citation are eligible for a $1,000 reward or four preference points from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
