Rogue Valley residents are invited to learn more about Providence’s hospice volunteer opportunities during meet-and-greet events in Grants Pass, Medford and Ashland.

  • Grants Pass: 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the boardroom at Taprock Northwest Grill, 971 SE 6th St., Grants Pass.
  • Medford: 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Mellelo Coffee Roasters, 229 W. Main St., Medford.

During these events, program staff will offer information and answer questions about what it’s like to serve as a hospice volunteer.

Hospice volunteers must be at least 18, complete 25 hours of training and onboarding, complete a background check and interview, and must commit to a year of service in the position.

In addition to these in-person events, Providence program staff will host a virtual Coffee Talk session at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9. Coffee Talks are an online, casual, hour-long meeting on Zoom discussing the details of the volunteer role and providing an opportunity to meet others interested in serving the community in a similar way.

To attend a Coffee Talk session, or to RSVP for one of the in-person meet-and-greets, contact Brandi Hoffman at brandi.hoffman@providence.org or by calling 971-429-7615.
