- The north entrance to Crater Lake National Park is expected to be closed this week and possibly into early next week due to the Middle Fork Fire in the park. The south entrance to the park remains open.
The north entrance to Crater Lake National Park will reopen temporarily Saturday through Monday for the Labor Day holiday weekend, officials said.
The road will open at 7 a.m. Saturday and stay open through Monday.
The North Entrance Road will close again starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Park Service.
The entrance has been closed to allow firefighters on the Middle Fork Fire to prepare control lines along the North Entrance Road.
Park officials estimate wait times of up to two hours to enter the park at either the North or South entrances over the holiday weekend.
