March 5, 1943 – June 21, 2023

Richard died peacefully at home, taking his last breath at 11:11 on the June 2023 Solstice. He is survived by his daughter, Astrea and a son, Gyawa, who live in Anacortes, Washington. Richard was highly respected as one of the last of his breed, a true Book Man. The one thing people knew about him was that “he sure knows books!” Richard loved his kids, books, chess, the cultivation of a loving heart and the peace that brought. Nature held a special attraction for him and he was at his best while camping, making his morning tea next to the mountain lake and reading and hiking in the woods. He was a simple man, requiring nothing for himself other than a few clothes to cover him and his van for camping and his books. And his ever present cup of English Breakfast. Richard wrote spiritual books under the pen name, Dorje Jinpa. His books are available in Hermeticus Bookshop, which will remain open while Richard watches over it from wherever he is.
