Ashland set for Children’s Halloween Parade; local haunted houses abound

- Ashland’s annual Halloween celebration for kids and their families will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The kids parade will follow East Main Street to the Ashland Plaza. Kids can trick-or-treat at downtown businesses and participate in a variety of activities. Nightmare Chamber Haunted House: The Randall Theatre’s annual horror haunt, The Nightmare Chamber, will bring all your own worst nightmares to life. This year’s theme will be “Paranormal,” a haunt where the spirit world runs rampant and seeks vengeance on the living. The haunt runs from 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, and Saturday, Nov. 4, at 10 E. Third St., the corner of Front and Third Streets in Medford. The Nightmare Chamber is a high-scare haunted house. It is not recommended for children 10 and under, if you are pregnant, prone to seizures or have problems with flashing lights and loud sounds. Regular tickets are $18. Fast passes are $25; a combo ticket to attend both the Nightmare Chamber and the Nightmare on the Rogue haunts can be purchased for $45. Nightmare on the Rogue — Haunted Mines: Hidden deep in the Front Street Mine, miners opened a tomb, unleashing a darkness beyond their wildest nightmares. The screams of those settlers still live here — along historic main streets, in quiet ghost towns, on windy country roads, and, even now, in the glint of gold flakes that lie beneath the Rogue River. Carnival of Chaos Haunted House: Carnival of Chaos is a frightfully fun haunted attraction for the whole family. A new carnival is coming to Southern Oregon and they are “dying” to meet you. Nightmare on Redwood Haunted House: One Eleven Theatre Company in Grants Pass will host “Nightmare on Redwood” Haunted House. The haunt, located at the Josephine County Fairgrounds, 1451 Fairgrounds Road, Grants Pass, will be open during the evening Tuesday, Oct. 31. Admission is $10.
