Low-cost pet vaccines: Make an appointment for your pet to get vaccinated and licensed at the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix, the third Saturday of each month. This drive-thru, appointment-only clinic is open to dogs and cats, as well as puppies and kittens. Vaccinations available for dogs are rabies and distemper/parvo booster. Vaccinations available for cats are rabies and distemper/rhino/calici booster. No nail trimming done. Pet owners must call the shelter to schedule or reserve a spot online at fotas.org/vaccinations by Friday before the scheduled clinic. All dogs six months of age and older are required by law to be vaccinated for rabies and licensed. Distemper/parvo/rhino/calici vaccinations are $15 each; rabies vaccinations are $10 each. License fees vary based on the dog’s neuter/spay status and length of licensing selected, and discounts are available for veterans and seniors 62 and older.
