FOR OUR READERS: Moratorium ends on ballot measure letters; deadlines set

Published 5:00 am Friday, May 3, 2024

The Rogue Valley Times has lifted its moratorium on Election Letters about the three measures regarding the Jackson County Board of Commissioners.

As with letters on all other items on the ballot for the state’s May 21 Primary Election, there is a limit of 150 words. Submissions exceeding that guideline will be edited for length; letters significantly over 150 words will be returned to the writer for resubmission.

Because of the volume of letters received, those selected for the print edition will reflect as wide a range of views as possible.

The following deadlines have been set for all Election Letters:

• Letters must be submitted by Tuesday, May 14, for consideration for the Times’ print editions. Letters received after May 14 will be considered for publication on our website.

• Letters must be submitted by Friday, May 17, for consideration to run online at rv-times.com/opinion. Letters received after May 17 will not be considered for publication.

Submissions exhibiting evidence of a letter-writing campaign, as well as those including personal attacks, will not be published.

Send Election Letters by email to letters@rv-times.com, or use the Submit A Letter to the Editor form available on rv-times.com
