Three suspects who allegedly preyed on licensed marijuana operations and carried out at least 16 burglaries in Jackson and Josephine counties face a total of 65 charges, according to a Thursday press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspects in the alleged burglary ring — Mitchell Jeffrey King, 35, of Central Point; Dylan Buck McNerney, 31, of Central Point; and Kenneth Alan Parker II, 48, of Gold Hill — were arrested after law enforcement executed search warrants at three locations on Tuesday, the release said.

Searches of two Central Point properties — one in the 1000 block of Glengrove Avenue, the other in the 500 block of Mazama Street — and, later, two storage units in the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue in Gold Hill, turned up 520 pounds of marijuana, eight guns and evidence of the alleged crime spree, the release said.

The suspects, who allegedly committed the burglaries between April 2023 to June 2024, are charged with “multiple counts of second-degree burglary, criminal conspiracy, first-degree aggravated theft, first-degree theft, attempted first-degree theft, first-degree criminal mischief and unlawful possession of a marijuana item,” among other counts, the release said.

All told, King is facing 32 charges, McNerney 10 and Parker 23, plus one for felon in possession of a firearm, the release said.

The alleged Josephine County burglaries may lead to more charges, the release said.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives with the Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team served the warrants with assistance from Oregon State Police, the release said.

The case has been handed off to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution, though detectives continue to investigate leads, the release said.
