Arrests

Rape, sodomy — Raul Antonio Avina Berrospe, 20, of the 100 block of Orr Drive, Central Point. Central Point police arrested Avino Berrospe Thursday on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, second-degree sexual abuse and third-degree attempted sodomy. Avino Berrospe was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $750,000 bail.

Burglary, criminal trespass — Jose Esparza, 29, of the 400 block of Fifth Street, Phoenix. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Esparza Friday on charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree assault-domestic abuse, third-degree theft, second-degree assault and harassment. Esparza was lodged in jail without bail.

Failure to appear — Brian Alan Horn, 31, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Horn Friday on warrants for failure to appear on charges of second-degree criminal trespass, unlawful possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and unlawful possession of methamphetamine as well as a parole violation for unlawful possession of heroin. Horn was lodged in jail on $6,000 bail.

Fugitive — Raymond David Malone, 40, of the 1100 block of Amber Avenue, Wichita Falls, Texas. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Malone Friday on a warrant as a fugitive wanted in Texas. Malone was lodged in jail without bail.

Robbery, disorderly conduct — Michael Ray Hastings, 53, no known address. Medford police arrested Hastings Saturday on charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree disorderly conduct, unlawful use of a weapon, third-degree theft, tampering with evidence and menacing. Hastings was lodged in jail without bail.

Sexual abuse — Michael Griffin Volkman, 22, of the 1900 block of Home View Drive, Medford. Medford police arrested Volkman Sunday on charges of first-degree sexual penetration, first-degree sodomy and second-degree sexual abuse. Volkman was lodged in jail without bail.

Failure to appear — Seth Thomas Carlisle, 34, of the 10 block of Pine Court, Eagle Point. Eagle Point police arrested Carlisle Thursday on warrants for failure to appear on charges of second-degree criminal trespass, pointing a firearm at another person, second-degree theft, menacing and third-degree theft. Carlisle was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Rape, sexual abuse — Calvin Chinon Char, 48, of the 700 block of East Main Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Char Thursday on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, fourth-degree assault and a probation violation for second-degree attempted assault. Char was lodged in jail on $200,000 bail.

Theft, drugs — Anthony Jose Hernandez Hewitt, 26, of the 1900 block of Homeview Drive, Medford. Medford police arrested Hernandez Hewitt Thursday on charges of second-degree theft, unlawful possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, felon in possession of a restricted weapon and a probation violation for attempting to elude police by vehicle. Hernandez Hewitt was lodged in jail without bail.

Failure to appear, domestic abuse — Ryan Patrick Minihan, 49, of the 4400 block of Park Ridge Drive, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Minihan Thursday on warrants for failure to appear on charges of strangulation-domestic abuse and fourth-degree assault-domestic abuse. Minihan was lodged in jail on $25,000 bail.

Criminal mischief, unlawful use of a weapon — Michael Elijah Runnels, 37, of the 300 block of Cedar Street, Rogue River. Rogue River police arrested Runnels Thursday on charges of first-degree criminal mischief, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree attempted assault, reckless endangering and menacing-domestic abuse. Runnels was lodged in jail without bail.
