A more than three-hour standoff ended peacefully Tuesday night after a suspect was taken into custody from a residence located in the 400 block of North Grape Street in Medford.
Medford police responded to the location after receiving a 2:30 p.m. report of a menacing with a handgun, authorities said.
“Our officers responded, determined that a crime had occurred and that there was probably cause to arrest a resident here who had fled back into his apartment,” Medford police Lt. Geoff Kirkpatrick said Tuesday following the incident.
The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Adam Hausa, who is in custody and will be lodged in the Jackson County Jail on multiple charges, including menacing with a firearm.
Kirkpatrick said police used a slew of tactics to resolve the situation and utilized noise-diversion charges, an explosion breaching charge and gas rounds, which resulted in the suspect exiting unarmed.
Kirkpatrick said Medford police responded with members of the department’s S.W.A.T. team, crisis negotiation team and drone team.
