Two men were arrested last week for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine from California into Southern Oregon, according to Medford police.

On Nov. 5, the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement (MADGE) team made contact with several individuals and a vehicle in Ashland, according to a news release from the Medford Police Department. The investigation was described as “long-term.”

After executing a search warrant on the vehicle, MADGE seized approximately 20 pounds of methamphetamine, the release said.

Gabriel Calderon, 42, of Madera, California, and Randall Banks, 62, of Sonora, California, were arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of unlawful delivery, unlawful manufacture, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, according to police. Police said the pair are suspected of trafficking the drugs over the border into Oregon.

Calderon and Banks were not listed in jail logs Monday.
