People who earned up to $75,000 in 2022 can do their taxes for free at the Teresa McCormick Center thanks to a new United Way of Jackson County service.
“(T)his is a really important program that helps families and individuals get money they have earned,” Dee Anne Everson, the CEO and executive director of United Way of Jackson County, said in a text. “It changes a family, a neighborhood and our community for the better.”
Participants will use Turbo Tax at the site. Fees will be covered by a state grant for United Way; a facilitator will be on hand to help with the process, the agency said in a release.
The service — which runs through April 13 — supplements United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site at the center, the agency said.
An appointment is required and can be booked on the United Way of Jackson County website: www.unitedwayofjacksoncounty.org/vita.
Slots are available between 8:45 and 11 a.m. on Tuesdays, 1:45 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 3:45 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Spanish interpretation is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Filers must bring their social security cards or individual taxpayer identification numbers for all household members, a copy of their 2021 federal tax return and all 2022 tax documents, such as W-2s and 1099s.
The Teresa McCormick Center is at 2600 S. Pacific Highway in Medford.
